Twitter actually used to have a similar feature. It was called “With Friends”. I don’t even remember when they got rid of it as it was so long ago.

how about #hashtag_topic and #hashtag_discussion_group (the latter to incorporate only the people participating in a discussion circle) ?

Great idea! Yeah if I like the look of a conversation then I open up the Twitter streams of all involved in tabs and then piece it together. It takes up too much time.

Sounds like you want, in part, the “With Friends” tab restored. I used to use it all the time, but it was removed last June: http://status.twitter.com/post/37217014/with-friends-tab-and-feeds

You put the category under “company”? You’re talking about twitting here, or lifestreaming, or whatever it’s called, it doesn’t seem bound to a single company, albeit the most used one.

Yeah…. and just imagine how nice it would be if the Twitter architecture allowed you to attach categories to your (and others’) tweets. Someone should build something like that :-)
